UltraShape® and You
If you're still considering whether UltraShape® is suitable for you, first consider if you are suitable for UltraShape®.
Confused?
The technology is designed for a specific person with a specific condition. This is the same for any type of medicinal treatment.
UltraShape® is aimed at men and women who are relatively healthy, want to improve the shape of their body, and have realistic expectations of the procedure and its achievable results.Localized areas of fat in the most stubborn areas of the body are targeted, which are the abdomen, flanks (love handles), hips, and thighs.
Though UltraShape® is a body contouring solution that reduces unwanted fat, it is primarily for people who are average to modestly overweight. As a result, the technology is not recommended for people who are overweight, underweight or obese.
To determine whether this fabulous noninvasive body contouring treatment is appropriate for you, you will have a brief physical examination during the consultative process. The area(s) that you want to treat will be checked. Your height and weight will also be measured to calculate your BMI. BMI stands for body mass index, and a measurement of under 30 is required.
How do you check your BMI?
Body mass index is a measurement of a person's body fat that physicians and researchers have used for years. It was formulated by the Belgian polymath, Lambert Adolphe Jacques Quételet, sometime between 1830 to 1850 and is not intended for diagnostic purposes. Calculations are dependent on the height and weight of an individual and the formula can be used for both men and women with the same results.
Here's the formula:
BMI = [weight in pounds/ (height in inches x height in inches)] x 703
or
BMI = [weight in kilograms/ (height in metres x height in metres)]
As a general guideline, a measurement of under 18.5 is considered underweight, over 25 is overweight and over 30 is considered obese. Ideal candidates for UltraShape® should have a BMI between 22 to 25.
Let's say you're 130 lbs and are 5' 2" (1' = 12", so that's 62" in height). Your BMI would be 23.77, making you within the ideal range for the UltraShape® procedure!
